Special Events/ Calendar Updates
In January three people helped paint our bookshelves in what is now our library. Thank you Jeanie, Debbie and Joyce. If you haven’t had a chance to see the room, stop in and take a look. Alice and Betty moved lots of books to the selves. Great job!
Just a reminder that our dues are due. You can pay $40 for the year or $20 for six months.
Please look at our tree in the lobby. It now has valentines made by students from Fort Stevens. This tree will be changing throughout the year. Thank you students!!!
Paint night is Thursday Feb. 20th at 6:00 pm. This month is Gnomes.
There are 2 events coming the end of February. On Thursday morning at 10:30 we will have speaker from the Thurston County Food Bank. She will talk about healthy food choices and eligibility for food commodities.
On Friday February 28th from 10am to 11am we will have an automated external defibrillator class. Our external defibrillator is located in the hallway.
On Thursday March 12th we will have a St.Patrick’s Day lunch provided by the Rotary
Club of Yelm as a “thank you “ for allowing them to use the building for their “Twelve Weeks of Summer” food distribution
Save the dates ——Swap meet June 5th and 6th. Start saving things for this fundraiser. We also have dates for our holiday bazaar which will be Nov. 6th and 7th.
Did you resolve to exercise more? Check out our beginning line dance , chair yoga or chair exercise class. Try the first class for free.
The exercise class starts Thursday Jan. 5th, line dancing Jan. 7th and chair yoga Jan. 9th. All these activities start at 10:00. We would love to add even more exercise classes. If you can volunteer to teach a chair Zumba, an afternoon strength and balance class, or a morning chair exercise class,please call the center.
David discussed the problems with our vans. We will put the oldest van up for sale. The money would then be used to make repairs on our newest van.
Look for our new signs for our updated first aid kit. Thanks Sid. We are hoping to set up a first aid training with emphasis on using the defibrillator. Watch for more details.
Our volunteer van driver situation is critical.!!! Yelm has seniors who are homebound. Our van brings them to our center for activities and lunch. Please help us provide this service. Call the center if you can help.

Everyone had so much fun playing Tripoli at our party we decided to have game day Friday mornings before produce. Come early and join us.
